Co-op Live achieve 2 GOAL Medals in Diversity & Inclusion and Community Resilience
16 October 2024
Co-op Live are excited to announce that our sustainability efforts have been recognized by GOAL and have achieved 2 GOAL Medals in Diversity & Inclusion and Community Resilience.
The GOAL Medals are an opportunity to recognize leadership in a variety of sustainability-related topics from Environmental, to Social, to Governance topics. The ESG categories are broken into 10 various topics that GOAL Members can be recognized for various actions at either a bronze, silver, or gold level.
The 10 topics include: Energy & GHG Emissions; Water Efficiency & Quality; Waste Reduction; Health & Wellness; Food & Nutrition; Diversity & Inclusion; ESG Strategy & Commitment; Community Resilience; Guest Engagement & Education; and Sustainable Partnerships.
There are 51 Medals that a GOAL Member can pursue at either a good (bronze), better (silver), or best (gold) level, depending on where they are in the journey. Instead of GOAL Members being expected to earn all 51 Medals, they are encouraged to pursue the Medals that align to their sustainability focus areas. The system is meant to reward year-over-year improvements and will be held on an annual basis. To obtain the GOAL Medals, GOAL Members utilize GOAL’s online Platform to access the Medal criteria, submit documentation, and to interact with the GOAL team that reviews the documentation to recognize the achievements.
GOAL’s First Annual Venue & Event All Stars Award Ceremony was held on the evening of Monday, October 14th after the day’s GOAL Invitational. This event will celebrate best practices in global venue operations’ best practice, including a spotlight on sustainability.
